Case study: Rosemary Conley's Slim To Win

In 2007 ITV commissioned a show to help 6 slimmers to lose weight. The Body Aspect system was used as a tool to help motivate the slimmers to lose weight.

Rosemary Conley used the Body Aspect software to create a target 3D image for each of the slimmers. This was compared against their actual 3D body scan.

I think the slimmers were mostly surprised at how big they were. It was a bit of shock. People who are very overweight stop looking at themselves in the mirror and they just don't realise how big they are.

Here's what some of the slimmers themselves had to say:

My 3D body looked smaller than I expected. Seeing the image of what I could look like in 6 to 12 months time was very motivating. It really brought home the reality of what it would be like for me to lose weight and look great."
Nikki Moore, 32

The body scan was horrible because I had managed to ignore how bad things were. I couldn't ignore the scan and I was glad of it. I even made sure I stopped denying the truth by placing a full-length mirror facing me as I get out of bed. It's no exaggeration to say I was horrified into weight loss.
Fran Fitzgerald, 47

When I first say my 3D body, I was larger than I thought I'd be. But the image of myself as a size 10 seemed very thin, it was quite a shock and definitely useful and motivating. I really needed the motivation through that six months, the hardest thing I've ever done.
Ceean Morrison, 40
