3D Body Scanning

3D body scanning creates a detailed representation of the body's external shape. Body Aspect brings together expertise in capturing, analysing and visualising this data, adapting the approach to the particular challenge.

Capture

3D body scanning captures the external surface of the body and creates detailed three-dimensional data describing its shape. This provides a basis for measurement, analysis and visualisation.

Body Aspect's expertise is not dependent on any particular scanning system. We adapt the capture approach to the application and the type of 3D data it requires.

Analyse

3D body data can be processed and analysed to calculate measurements, volumes and proportions. It can also be used to investigate differences in body shape and asymmetry.

The analysis can be adapted to different applications across apparel, healthcare and other areas, selecting the measurements and shape information relevant to each challenge.

Visualise

3D body data can be represented and explored through interactive 3D imagery and immersive virtual reality. These approaches allow body shape to be viewed from different angles and comparisons to be explored visually.

Applications range from exploring body image and enabling remote clinical assessment to investigating how individual body geometry can support personalised garment design and virtual fitting. The form of visualisation can be adapted to the questions being investigated.
